Biography
Dr. Zidi Wang is a researcher at the Nuclear Safety Research Center, Japan Atomic Energy Agency. He received his B.Sci degree (2012) and M.Sci degree (2015) from Xi'an Jiaotong University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, respectively. After that, he received his Ph.D. (2018) from the University of Tokyo, Japan. His research interests include the development of particle method for free surface/interfaces flows and its applications to nuclear safety analysis.
Abstract
The Moving Particle Semi-implicit (MPS) method is a meshless Lagrangian particle method, which has great potential in tracking various free surfaces and interfaces for incompressible flow. Meshes are no longer needed and the diffusion of convection term could be avoided due to its Lagrangian description. Recently, it has been applied to a wide range of fluid mechanics, including nuclear engineering, ocean engineering, civil engineering and so on. In this talk, details of the MPS method, including fundamentals, recent developments as well as several applications, will be presented.
